Hi Folks,
I'm a knuck-knitting addict, and DS, who's 4, just asked for some. I don't think the kid measurements will work on him -- probably still too big. Any idea about how to adjust the pattern to fit his hands? Any insights greatly appreciated.
He's hoping for purple....
thanks!

Hi, I made knucks for my 4 year old following the kids size on the pattern using 4 ply baby wool and size 9 needles. I'm sorry I don't know how that translates into American sizes, I'm in Australia and I get confused myself over American sizing! She loves them, the wool is nice and soft and there is still a little bit of room to grow. I hope this helps anyway.

here's my daughter at age 3 (days before her 3rd birthday) wearing a pair of kid-sized knucks, made by Pam (the designer) following the pattern exactly, in the specified yarn

there is plenty of growing room but they fit very well. not too baggy, they just come up higher on her fingers (the pinky has only the very tip exposed).

Here is one of my DS' (I was so excited to finish and that he loved them that I snapped photos before the second was done).
He had just turned 5 when I made them.

They fit perfect, with just enough growing room that I am sure they will fit this winter too.

i just love the internet.
i have been managing to avoid my darling six year old's request for fingerless mitts for sometime now. finally got around to looking for a pattern on ravelry last night, and was gobsmacked when knucks came up -- how could i have forgotten about them? figured i would just do some math and reduce them to ollie's size.
then i saw that, of course, pamela had written a child's size and this post answered my question about whether they would work for ollie.
now i'm off to wind his freshly dyed yarn (he was particular about color) and hope i can hit gauge with it.
