I've been to 2 Michael's, 2 yarn shops, and a Wal-Mart within 50 miles of my home. And none of them carry Fisherman's. Heck, the only wool either yarn shop carries really that isn't the fancy stuff is Paton's classic merino or bemidji homespun. :bang Where's the cheapest place to order Fisherman's? Preferably with low or free shipping with a minimum order or something? :goodgrief

maybe joanns site with a coupon? I haven't ordered on line. As far as I know, Michael's isn't carrying it and honestly, I have never seen it at a WalMart....just JOAnns and Hancock fabrics.....

Joann's online is EXPENSIVE. It is $ 11.50 for an 8 oz skein. My Hobby Lobby carries it for under $ 8.
Do you need me to get you some, Julia? Let me know and I can run over there tomorrow and get some for you. I need to get some myself... I am feeling the need to dye something up.

www.discountyarnsale.com carries bags of yarn that they sell for less than the retail price. Shipping is a pricey for smaller orders, and the minimum order is $30. A bag of six skeins of Fisherman's is $36, but shipping is $9, so the total is $45, which works out to $7.50 a skein. That's a lot of wool!

Where is she getting fisherman's for $5.99???? It's $8.99 for an 8 oz skein here. That link is great btw Michelle! I think that's the way to go when I run outta Joann's coupons. Or maybe as a bday present.

Yup, AC moore's has it 5.99 a skien AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDD Every tuesday they have a coupon come out for 40% off ANY 1 item, so its $3.60(and if you can get 2 coupons and get your hubby or friend to check out behind you you can get 2 skiens for 3.60 each). Its a real bargain, thats where I get my fishermans. Its an hour away so I can only go every once in a while or my sis has to stop by on her way here, but since it is litterally just down the road(took 3 minutes in traffic) its no big deal for her.
The next cheapest place is hancock at 7.99 with no coupon, or there is this online bargain bag place with 6 skeins for $36 plus $7 shipping and if you buy more than 1 item its only $2 shipping after that, very good deals

Well, I don't know that I have ever seen an AC Moore. I have Hobby Lobby here and LB fish. is $7.99. Oh well, though, right???
I checked the AC Moore Store Locater and the closest one to us is in Columbus, GA, which is around a 10 hour drive. :(
What else do they have - is it mainly a craft/hobby store like Michael's?

You wanna get me a few skeins? :brow
OK guys, I'm new here names Ruth mummy to DD Millie Rose 12 weeks and DS Tommy 2yrs and I really am on an island with no fishermen :emb. I live in England! I've just ordered some fishermens from discountyarn and am patiently waiting for it to arrive (it definitely saves on shipping to get that amount shipped to the uk). The only thing in my favour is that the pound is so strong against the dollar at the moment ($1.75 to the pound).
Cheers,
Ruth

I don't have any place nearby that sells fishermans. I'd have to get it from discountyarnsale.com - so through you sounds good to me! Can I get two skeins?

sure, I cant promise, Ill have to get back with you when it gets closer to the time im going because im not 100% sure im gonna go, need to check the weather and all the traffic stuff.
Im thinking it might actually be cheaper if you kept with the discountyarnsales.com though cause from me it will be 5.99 a skein plus 8% tax plus about $4 shipping, thats almost $17(which is about 8.50 each) and if you just stuck with discountyarn its 36 plus 6.95 and comes out to be about 7.15 a skein.

LOL well i mean if you ordered monday then you'd get it by next week right? where if you get it from me I might be able to send it out monday after tomorrow and it would probably take a week, so maybe not that much longer, LOL
(I am all about the math for some reason, love to brake stuff down, I wonder if I could donate my math skills to the drive? LOL)
