Mini-Contest: Help me find junk in my store!

Hello!

I have been browsing through my store -- something I rarely do -- and I noticed some of my information is out of date, and some of my listings were corrupted somehow.

I did a sweep through this morning. I have to laugh, I mean some of this stuff was written a looooong time ago! See my preschooler as an infant!

So, if you have the time and inclination and would like to look for errors, outdated links or bad characters, spelling goofs or anything like that, I will reward your findings with a free pattern of your choosing.

Just list what you find in this thread.

Some things to look for:

If it says "your pattern will be emailed to you" that is WAY old and totally incorrect. Patterns are now received by instant download after purchase.

If you see any random question marks, those are popping up in odd places.

there are extra Ts in the Title Box
there is a J at the end of the row counter line

Under shipping and returns - there is mention of the patterns being sent by e-mail.

Also, under discount coupon:

"Discount Coupon Sample Text ...

This section of text is from the Define Pages Editor located under Tools in the Admin.

To remove this section of the text, delete it from the Define Pages Editor."

I'm guessing you don't want that text posted.

It looks like this for me in Firefox, too, but when I go to IE, it looks right (the T's in the title box are snowflakes and that J is a smiley face).

On the swatchcloth page, "Doesn't" is missing the apostrophe. This page also mentions the Swatchcloth of the month club. And it needs a question mark after "How do I get the pattern"

It's so much more fun to proof your site than to grade my students' essays :D

Interesting. I'm using Safari on a Mac and I get the extra T's too. That's the case in all of the faux cable collection boxes. The smiley face at the end of row counter shows up just fine though.

In the wonderfaux cabled cap, there are three "inch symbols" missing:

40 size eight circs and 12 /16 size 8 circ if desired
12 or 16 size 6 circular needle

Think I'm done. DH and the kids have re-emerged from the video they were watching. Time to get the kids to bed. :sunshine

I found something - which I will volunteer to help you with- looks like some of your licensee's have 'dead links' ---I found a couple and then stopped looking.....

If you want/need help contacting those women or updating the list --I am willing to do the follow-up. (I don't know how to go in and edit on your site though- but I could learn I suppose)

When you join you get a welcome letter which includes the password to use in the 'tree house'- there all the business partners are listes along with their codes...If she posts how to use the discounts on that page people could use them w/out being members.

Although, it might be helpful to say 'check your welcome letter for passwords needed to access member information' (Or some clarifying statement....)

I noticed that I can access the licensing info from the link on the homepage, but in the store - in the right margin under "Categories" if I click the "WonderWAHM Cottage Licensing" link takes me to a page that says "There are no products to list in this category". Should the licensing info be on that page too? Or it could be that I'm clueless & that link is for something else? :)

Under the "Licensed for Wooly Wonder Patterns", you have Alison Derrick listed, as of Fall 2005, with her website "TBA" I'm guessing either it hasn't been updated OR she's not going to do a website...

That's pretty minor, LOL.

Also, on the "Advertise on Wooly Wonder Forums" page, the link at the bottom for "the Knitty Kitty" is dead. The word "transparancy" should be spelled "transparency".
