Yeah, in FL, but a bit of a drive to Sarasota; I'm in Fort Lauderdale.

How did you fare w/ the hurricanes?

There is a yahoo group called Hurricane Knitters that is comprised of knitters in FL (I think they're trying to come up w/ a new name due to all the hurricane activity this summer). Members are from all over the state, and I'm sure there are some in Sarasota or at least Brandon/Tampa.

Oh cool!! Do you have the link to the group? Sometimes I can't find things in search.

We suffered no damage in ANY of the storms - if you can believe it! Our house is like a fortress, so we were super worried, but I know so many didn't fare so well. If one good thing came out of all of this, maybe they won't let the trailers be built back up. Those things are death traps!

We were fine for the hurricanes, too. Frances and Jeanne passed to the north of us, so we mainly had winds and rain. Our house is still all boarded up, and I'm tempted to leave it that way until November! :laugh: I agree about the trailers... We have friends to the north around Lake Okeechobee (sp?) who have told us about all the destruction up there. Trailer parks are condemned, roads GONE, destroyed houses... It's so sad. I'm so thankful we were ok; I'm glad you were, too!

My best friend lives in Tampa, so we go up occasionally. Maybe one weekend we can meet up when we're either headed up or back!
