I'm constantly breaking the cables on my Denise kit and was thinking of getting a second one anyway so could work on more than on project at a time. I love the idea of interchangeable sets but I'm kind enough to them and break the cables at the connections :(

Anyway so I'm going to look for some needle lots on ebay (only way I could afford them!). I only want circs and want your opinion on which needles are good but not incredibly expensive. I've had one set of Clover Bambo and liked those as well as Addi Turbos but those are too expensive.

What do you recommend to fit the bill?

I just got some Inox Express circs. So far so good. nice joins (course I can't say how well they hold up over time) and nice needles. Not super slicky like the Turbos but for $5-6.50/ea. new, there's pretty nice IMO.

I have used a variety from my grandmas stash... some Bernat circ (liked them) some Boye (ok, stiffer cable)

Lots are a great way to go usually, as long as the have the sizes you want. Grandma had nothing but 29" circs it seems... They work, but not as nice for magic loop as a longer would be.
