If I were to make a cloth container to put in my closet (since my floor space is insanely crowded), if I want to make sure no moths get into it, can I just put the cedar thingies in there? How many do you have to have to keep away moths? What else could work?
I need to figure out something, my craft room is turning out to be the most crazy messy room of the house!

I use sachets filled with eucalyptus leaves. Make sure the cloth container closes in some way to keep dust off the yarn. :)

Thanks Sharon!! Where do you get eucalyptus leaves? That sounds lovely.

I buy mine at the health food store, sold in the herb section. :)

I use those cedar blocks, I sand them down every 2 months. I also put a whole dry bay leaf in the bottom of each bin which repels general buggies

I have cedar sachets and blocks (the little thin ones). I use a plastic tote right now, so I'm using so the plastic doesn't off-gas into the yarn. The cedar does a great job! I have one sachet and two or three blocks in there - it's one of the bigger rubbermaid totes (30 gal maybe?).

Oh I'm going to try the bay leaf. We don't get moths here, but we do get spiders...

spiders are exactaly what the bay leaf is for. I don't want them in my yarn.
I also put them under our mattresses

Thanks for the tip on bay leaf for spiders!
Naturally, I don't care for them much LOL.

Oooh good tip Sharon we sure have plenty of eucalyptus leaves in our backyard! ;)
Does anyone want some sent to them :D Is that allowed I wonder?
I put some of my "stash" yarn in large Space Bags -- the kind you can suck the air out of with a vacuum cleaner. You'd be surprised how much air yarn takes up LOL. Works great for hiding the new shopping :P
