thank being about to start leg #2 of some large custom dyed variegated colors pants and being pretty sure you don't have enough wool??? It's like a pit in my stomach as the ball gets smaller and smaller... I don't think I will be able to match the colorway!
Oh the HORROR!!!
Anyone have anything worse???

Ooooh :bang I hate when that happens.
I can't really think of anything worse knitwise...maybe the entire skein of wool falling in my dye pot when only part was supposed to be dyed? Happened twice today. :frustrat:

Eek!!! That sucks! I also hate when I dye 2 or 3 small skeins of yarn the same colors, but end up with 3 dif. colorways when it's knit up. :goodgrief

I JUST did this yesterday...
knit up a soaker with full belly farm organic and literally had JUST enough to do the waist tie. I was nearly in tears doing those last few rows, praying all along I'd be able to finish!

That's why I like doing the Magic Loop. Since you're doing both legs at the same time, you run out at the same place. Then you can use a second color or just call the project finished.

I still cannot figure out how to magic loop both legs at once. I suck... DOes anyone have pics of themselves doing 2 at once? The sock pics just don't help me. :(

If you wanna send a picture of pants done with the magic loop method I would be very greatful. I tried this once and it got all tangled up, so I just knit 1 leg at a time using 2 circular needles. Can you use a 16inch or does it have to be 24+? Sorry to hyjack.

Well, I actually had enough but it got down to the very last itty bitty bit! Whew... I am going to weigh these suckers to make sure that never happens again, lol.
Sooooo.... I keep trying to work out the ML in my head. I am working a soaker right now (can I just say how nice it is to do a soaker after 300 pairs of pants???) but next up are more pants. Can I fly someone to my house to show me how to do this? LOL.

I would take a pic in action on these pants, but they're my swap pants! Did the tech link with the pics not help any? In pic 2 here:

just imagine there is a second set just like this one on those needles. Maybe I can draw a pic. I'll try to do that later...holding the babe...got shots today :(
