The pictures kind of stink but what else do you get at midnight? ;)
They're organic cotton jersey outter (from a remnant bolt off e-bay (from Blue Canoe) - it's lovely stuff) in a cranberry color. The inner is this super heavy organic cotton fleece and then there's two (2-layer) hemp french terry soakers that snap in. My boys are *super* heavy wetters so I have resorted to making my own diapers for that reason... great absorbancy without tons of bulk or major drying time in the dryer.
Snaps are blue:

If you would like a link to an awesome diaper sewing board with more information and helpful people than you ever will need, let me know. :) (It's how I found this place as well).
I really like the way the Very Baby pattern fits my son - the side snapping are my favorite because they allow for bigger thighs and smaller waists should that happen (as it is for Gray). I'd never done side snapping or used them before making these, but they really are a fantastic fit.
Only thing that is a bummer about that pattern is that the first time I used it I didn't realize that you have to add a bit more seam allowance than the actual pattern and I'd cut out 18 diapers worth of expensive diaper fabric (they were my smalls) and I about cried. I got it to work okay, but it was a nerve wracking learning lesson.
I made another 5 this morning (I'd had them cut out prior though) - and they're just like the above - fit great, absorbant... stretchy and soft. I know they're kind of boring but I love the organic factor of the fabric so it's okay for now - when I have a good stash then I'll sew for fun.
I now need to make him some covers with my PUL to supplement my wonderful woolies since sometimes changing him often enough doesn't happen and we need the leak-proof assurance.
If you have any questions Erika, let me know, I love to talk diapers. :)

Julie,
I would love the link to the diaper making board. I am going to get a new sewing machine in the next couple weeks (YAY!!!) and then save up to hopefully get a serger in the next 2 or 3 months. I have access to a snap press too- I prefer snaps also! So, like I said, I am going to give it a shot and see what happens :pink
Where did you get your diaper pattern?
Thanks Mama!!

I got my pattern from One Stop Diaper Shop (OSDS).
The diaper board is http://diaperdivas.proboards57.com/index.cgi#general
:)
(I just got a serger in June and I really like it (the one from Sears... nothing amazing - but a work horse) - my biggest suggestion for that is Wooly Nylon thread for two of the loopers - makes your serging look beeeeeautiful! (even if you're not great at it)). :) I can't WAIT to get a new fancy sewing machine... ahh I dream of it. ;)

THANK YOU!! :) Any suggestions on a sewing machine? I am not going to buy anything too fancy but I want something that will work well...and something I won't have to replace for a long, long time! A few people have suggested Janomes. Hopefully I'll get to go shopping soon~ :pink

toh
I don't have any suggestions having not looked into it really well yet - ask on the diaper board though... some of them have amazing machines and there is everything in between - you'll get some good thoughts (and reasons why) - that's how I found the serger I bought - their suggestion for my price range.

It can depend on how much you are willing to spend ;)
I have had 2 Singers, both older and not so expensive but they have served me well. Ive heard that Vikings and Brothers are also a popular and dependable brand but I have no personal experience. There are so many, I dont think I would go with a Walmart brand or one that is really cheap costing, but that is just me. Sounds like a headache.
I have a Babylock Serger that works great but I would LOVE a new Bernina :love
