Hi All,

I have a mama request patches on longies, so the pants are done (except for the blasted weaving) and I'm looking at doing hte patches.
For those of you who have done them, um..how did you do them? I'm thinking of doing all sc (single crochet) and just sewing them on..any thoughts?

Hugs,
tammy

Patches as in just cool patchwork pants or like patches on the knees for reinforcement?

I was going to add them to a pair but never did. All I did was knit two hearts about the size I wanted and I was going to sew them on. Not sure if that helps since I didn't actually follow through!

i've been trying to come up w/ a way to make patches on knees that are aesthetically pleasing enough to do it. so far, no luck, lol.

my thoughts are felt some sturdy wool and then make patches and sew them on. felted wool may be more resilient, and you can cut into different shapes easily?

If you're knitting flat, you could just use two strands in the area where you want patches. It would make it thicker there, at least. I don't know how it would affect gauge, though. Just a thought...
