I was reading on MDC how someone is looking for pants with feet. The F&F pattern does have it, but as Karla aptly pointed out, it IS labor intensive, and really nothing I want to embark upon.

Has anyone made pants with feet? I just couldn't imagine the wipe out factor. Jenna can barely get around in a pair of tights. I couldn't imagine wool on the floor. And the absolute wear on the feet! OY!

So.... with that being said (I wanted to post that there, but thought it would be rude of me to make the "wipe out factor" comment considering I am a WAHM), has anyone made any? If so, how long does it add to making them? And how do they wear?

I am in the process of making one for my 6mo dd. Its a pair of tights really, made of sockyarn, variegated in lovelu autumn colours. As she isnt walking yet I thought it would be nice for under a dress or for betime as she keeps crawling out from under the covers.<br>
Lining the body (diaper)-part with a thicker 100% wool yarn soaker, knit in, as the outer sockyarn is an 80/20 wool nylon blend. Its taking FOREVER to knit this. I am not used to the tiny little needles anymore.
I was thinking of making my 21 mo DS a pair too but as I am progressing so slowly on DD's I think he'll just have to wear socks and longies instead. As I have wool carpeting in most of the livingspaces wear would be less and I used a lovely non slip trick on his last felted booties....sipping the sock in latex or even bookbindersglue on the bottom (then letting it dry) gives a lovely dureable sole to the booties.
Cant wait until I get to the feet, as I suck at socks my mom promissed to knit those...just 30 cm to go....twice.

That latex trick sounds nice. Has anyone in the US tried it? And know where I can get some? Is it a liquid?

I haven't tried feet on longies... too scared. :hide

I'm thinking you'd use them on newborns or babies who aren't yet mobile. Then you can skip shoes and such. Theresa has optional footies on her Longies pattern.

Also, puffy fabric paint 9not the too puffy kind, works on the bottom of slippers....
