I'm looking into having some custom yarn spun for me. The first will be 100% alpaca and the second an 80% wool, 20% alpaca blend. (For super yummy, soft soakers!) Before I do so, I'd like to know if there are any soaker-sellin' mamas (or makin' mamas) who would be interested. I think I can offer this at a reasonable rate. Wholesale for resellers or soaker-sellers with very low minimum orders!

Your input as far as yarn weight is always welcome.

If you are interested in more details, email me: katie@bungalowbuns.com

Have you tried this combo for soakers? I have heard that the alpaca is very "drapey" and doesn't hold its shape well...also along with that some question about the lanolin properties...I don't think they are the same as for wool...

I have not. Am planning on carding up & handspinning some just to check. I think the 80/20 should end up similar to the Peace Fleece.

I think that little alpaca will maked it soft w/o losing the good wool properties.
