Well, I was really excited about knitting my first wooly wonder pants, so I did guage swatches at home for the two yarns I'm planning on doing pants in and ran to the lys and bought a ton of needles, but just happened to not get the ones that I need for the body of the first pair I'm doing. :emb So, I have the longer ones (36", they didn't have 40, I'm assuming that's okay) for the magic loop part and I'm wondering if I can just do magic loop for the body, too. Is it possible? I have just finished my ribbing and I'm raring to go and the lys is closed tomorrow!!!

TIA

Jayne.

I used the Magic Loop method and I LOVED IT! Of course I had Addis and that helped a lot because the cord is so smooth and sleek.... prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. but any way... yes it can be done :)

Okay! Thanks you guys. If it seems like too much of a pita, I can always switch to the 16" circs tomorrow when the lys opens. It sure would be nice to avoid buying another set of needles, though. I actually bought five sets of bamboo circs yesterday -- just about every size you'd ever need, umm, except the one I need. :violin

I'm using the magic loop method. I actually think it is easier, because I don't need markers A and C, that is where I split my stitches. I know my front, because I have my initial yarn end from casting on. I do prefer the 16" to get started (I have a size US4 16" circular which I use for the ribbing on all soakers/pants I do) and then switch to magic loop for the body (I have 47" circulars in all sizes US3-11).

I decided to try two circs since I had 24" and 36" in the right size and it's working great. I have never worked with 2 circs or done magic loop before, so I'm thinking this'll be a good intro for when it's time to change to m/l at the crotch.

I'm really excited about doing this pattern and playing with this yummy yarn, but ds has a fever and wants only to sleep in my lap and will not let me put him down. I'm starting to feel a little guilty about just how much I want him to take a nap on the bed, in the swing, anywhere but right here... :tsk
