I have been getting my needles for pretty cheap ($7 each) from handknitting.com. They have worked great so far, but these are the only bamboo I have tried. Is there really a difference between different more expensive bamboo needles, like Clover or Crystal Palace?
I am tempted to get some Clover ones since those aren't too much more but I would be disapointed if they were pretty much the same thing.
Also, do they make Rosewood in circulars? Or other kinds of wood? If so how do those compare to bamboo? I would love one or two nice sets of needles if I knew there was a noticable difference.

My LYS sells both crystal palace and clover and I have some of each and I can't tell a difference between them. I can tell a difference between the bamboo and the addi turbos, though, and I'm switching to turbos even though I like the bamboo, because everything is much smoother and knitting goes much faster.

The crystal palace needles I bought were even cheaper than that:
I have 4 pairs of 12" long needles (price in parenthesis):
US2/2.75mm ($5.75)
US3/3.25mm ($6.00)
US7/4.50mm ($6.50)
US8/5.00mm ($6.50)
If you happen to need those any of those sizes I'm not using them.

i've never tried crystal palacce, but i have tried Plymouth, which look similar to the ones at handknitting.com. the packaging is the same, but the sticker is different. perhaps they are just sold as different brands but are the same needles?
the thing i hated about those was that little 'bead' at the join. when using certain yarns (alpaca, boucles) i always got caught on that bead. the clovers are much smoother at the join, and i've noticed that tey get nicer to knit with with wear.

 I defintily don't need anymore needles. I use all 16 in bamboo circulars. I have 2 size 2s, 2 size 3s, 2 size 4s, 4 ? size 6s, 1 size 8, 1 size 10, 5 size 1 double pointed, I think that's all. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything, and I guess I am not missing much. The little ball at the join is a little annoying, but I have gotten use to it.
Thanks for the replies!
