KAL - Cigar

I'm making these (http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTcigar.html) for dh for his bday (next month) - anyone wanna join me?

He does smoke the occassional cigar and such when at a poker game, but mostly I thought these would work well for World of Warcraft. All of his mouse/keyboard fingers will be left free to click and peck as he plays while the rest of his hands stay warm in our drafty office.

I don't have anyone that can use those unfortunally. They could possibly be useful for when dh plays paintball in the winter to keep the rest of his hands warm, but if he got paint all over something I spent time knitting I'd be a lil :nut

I have ally toons too, but honestly I don't like them much, my lil troll is so sassy and cute and talks all Jamacian like and has a purple mohawk omg! :D
and when she says "I feel pretty...oh so pretty" and then hawks up a loogie, yeah that makes me laugh till I cry.

am thinking about Cigar for two of my brother-in-laws for xmas . One of them especially because he generally smokes outside, but the other smokes inside mostly, I think. But then again, the heat in his van doesn't work too well! I can not start right now. I just started another pair of WW pants for my son (who's legs are getting very long), need to start Swell for my husband, three more pedicure socks for xmas gifts, :nut
I don't think I can buy yarn right now, I haven't looked at the pattern too much yet, think PF would jive?

Just checked out the yarn specs for Cigar. Looks like it calls for light worsted WOTA. Peace Fleece isn't going to do the job! I checked out the price of WOTA and it is super cheap, huh?
I won't start these for a few weeks, but am already debating whether to measure the guys fingers and keep my mouth shut or just pick a size. It would probably be more fun to measure their fingers and confuse em! Although they know I am knitting xmas gifts, they would probably make come up with a hypothesis. I wish I could start em now!

I'm going with the large for my dh. he has pretty big hands. it's a surprise...well, kind of. he asked for them last winter. i'm pretty sure he's forgotten about it by now as he keeps asking for more socks.

i'm just gonna use a lt worsted i have in my stash. i was gonna use lion brand wool ease when i saw that i have some perfect wool from the Yarn of the Month club that didn't have plans yet. lol

i'm also gonna use dpns instead of two circs. i love my dpns.

dh has a few characters, he did start one that was horde, but he didn't like it. he keeps begging me to play so that way i wont be pissed when he's playing. riiiiight. who will take care of the kids, then?

I am tempted. DH plays Everquest and the computer is in the basement and it gets pretty cold in the winter. My only concern is that I don't want to condone this behavior!:D so I shouldn't send mixed messages right?

Would knucks be better for typing since all the fingers are open?

My dh finger pecks, so he doesn't need all his fingers available.

You need to get the kids playing too! That way when they want to play you can send them off to do chores to earn time while YOU play....

I like the idea of of these for the mouse hand, because then I'd only have to make one! ..err...for me! err...at least if I made a pair they wouldn't have to be matching since DH and I don't have the same sized hands, LOL.

Oh, and couldn't let it go by without saying... Go Horde! *snicker*
