So we have our names, now lets talk about the things we love in our woolies! We can repost measurements too, so the people making for us have a quick reference. :) Be as descriptive as possible!!

We need:

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)

OF COURSE, these are all JUST preferences - no matter what this will be an AWESOME swap! I know that *I* love to know what people I knit for prefer since I can do more than one thing, but I also know there are newbies knitting that can only do one thing, and that is totally okay! I just wanted to have a place we can let it all out in case we want to go crazy. :)

I will be back with mine - Anika is waking. :)

Don't forget to respond to those questions for both crocheters and knitters, if you were okay with either.

Okay, I may have to edit this. I'm adding a bit to the measurements so that they will fit all winter. My earlier measurements were actual for where the girls are now (but we're only needing 1 pair of pants).

Rise: 17"
Waist: 16.5"
Inseam: 5.5" (from the bottom of the dipe)
From waist to ankle:11"
Thigh: 8.5" (this is the actual measurement)

Cuffs: Rolled, seed stitch or ribbed (or whatever your heart desires)

Wool: We prefer softer wools. I would like to be able to use these for a dipe cover, so not too thin, please. I've used Fisherman's, Bartletts and FabCon Lopi and liked them all. I have plans to branch out into other wools, so if you find something super yummy that's great!

Colors: I like varigated colors, and solids and stripes. Basically, I like everything anyone posts in the gallery, so have fun! Fall colors would be nice. I also adore rainbow varigated colorways.

Style: We like short row butt shaping. We use mainly prefolds for dipes, if that helps. Short rows every four rows work really well for the butt bubble on the girls. Knit in the round or seamed are both fine.

Knit or crochet is fine!

Sorry if I seem wishywashy. I just think this is going to be so much fun, and don't have strong preferences.

YES! As someone who can't crochet to save her life...I forgot to add that! So sorry! I edited. :mwah

Andrew's measurements (non-diaper, diaper, AIO/diaper-with-cover):

---------------- non-diaper -------- diaper ------ AIO/diaper-with-cover
rise ------------- 14" ------------- 16.5" ------------- 17.5"
waist ------------- 16" ------------- 18" ------------- 19"
hip ------------- 16.5" ------------- 19" ------------- 20.5"
thigh ------------- 10" ------------- 10" ------------- 10"
inseam ------------- 11" ------------- 9" ------------- 8.5"

I am cool with either knit or crochet pants.

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.) :
I would like them to do double-duty, as both pants and soaker, so I would prefer it to be wool. Other than that, anything the maker would be happy to put on their babe is fine with me!

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.) :
I would like to leave this up my swap mama's creativity. I could tell you what I would do, but I already do that. The best thing about a swap for me is trying out something new and different. That said, my dh would probably prefer the pants not be girly for our little guy. :LOL

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try):
Anything goes! I'm not expecting any embellishments, so please don't feel any pressure to do them. :mwah

How fun!

Ok. Jenna's measurements are:

19" rise
11" thigh
20" hip
9" inseam

So if my swap mama could add about an inch in the inseam. I can roll the legs.

Finishing on the cuffs... seed stitch, preferably.

Knitted or crocheted. I am up for either.

Wool, please. Prefer a little thicker .... Jessica's Bartlett, Theresa's 2 ply

Colors: Whatever.... I am SO flexible, and really don't care. Whatever you want to do is fine with me. As long as it is appropriate for a girl... pinks would be cute, purples, too. Greens, too, Yellows, too... see flexible...

Short rows are fine. Don't need them, though. If you just want to add a few inches to the rise that is fine, too.

OK.... that is all. If I have someone who CAN do this, I would love a little flare in the leg. But no biggie if you can't.

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Knit
Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
Size largish - waist = 20", thigh = 12 1/2", rise = 18 1/2", inseam = 8", hips = 24"
yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
no superwash...
color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
Doesn't matter to me...I do like contrasting cuffs and waistbands, but it doesn't really matter...I wanna be surprised.
finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
I guess I'd like to be able to roll them a bit so that he can wear them next winter too...so maybe add and inch or two to the length then? My kids only get longer from here on out. lol
style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
Doesn't matter to me.
embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)

this is going to be a fun swap!

so maya's measurements are:

rise: 8" in the front under ribbing and 10" in the back under ribbing.
inseam: currently 8", let's say 9" to be safe
hip: 21 inches.
waist: 18 inches.

I did specify knit before but i should have said "i don't care" though it's probably too late for that!

as far as yarn goes, i prefer thicker yarns to thinner ones. We live in a city with no car and go out in the stroller allll day long, even in blizzards! so warm is good. Also Maya is mass destruction on 2 legs so something nice and sturdy is good! I don't mind if it's a wool blend (up to 20% nylon, for example) as it can wear better that way. I would like it to be soft, since she won't be weearing leggings underneath them.

i don't dye yarn, and have nothing hand-dyed for maya so i would be thrilled to receive some hand-dyed pants. We have no real color preferences, though i'm not the biggest fan of blue. Not loving pastels, either.

I also love natural, undyed wools. i once saw a pair of pants made in fair isle of all different natural organic yarn colors - is that too much to ask? :pink

i don't really care if the cuffs are made one way of another: surprise me! i would like then rollable, though, since i'm guessing on the inseam.

i have no style preferences, though we do need a rise longer in the back than the front (don't all babies?) and embellishments are not required at ALL but would be appreciated. if anyone needs a specific suggestion, let me tell you how obsessed my child is with Hello Kitty!

thanks!!!

This is so exciting! :knit :leftyhoo:

Measurements:

Waist-19"
Hip-20"
Rise-19"
Thigh-10"
Inseam-10" This is a little long but will let me roll the cuff up and they will fit ds all winter. :D

Tobias is 11 months old and crawling everywhere. He is a rough and tumble little guy. :love We cloth diaper(of course :cd )and we use wool exclusively. These pants need to double as pants/soaker. :wool

Knit or crochet is great!

Cuffs: I am good with anything.

Yarn preference: Wool. No superwash. I need a thicker and sturdy wool like Theresa's 2 ply.

Colors: Anything boyish. Earth tones are my favorite, I love Fall colors, I am up for anything.

Finishing preferences: Can I get a drawstring please? Nothing too tight(like leggings). A little baggy is good.

Style: I like short rows but don't need them. I don't care if it is knit in the round or flat.

Embelishments: I am in no way expecting this. :) I do not know how to so the ones I knit will not have any. I'd love pumpkins or fall leaves though.

edited to add: no superwash

First - Ella's measurements
Waist- 16
Rise - 16
Thighs- 8.5
Inseam- 6.5

We would prefer knit.
Yarn preference is soft and no superwash.
I prefer short rows, but if you don't want to do them you can just add an inch to the rise.
I like no seams, but its not that important to me.
As for cuffs, it really doesn't matter, I like just about anything.
Color- Let your creativity run wild. I like girlie stuff, but I do dress her in any color.
Embellishments- If you want to, go for it. If not, we'll still be thrilled! :devil

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Don't care, really. As long as the crochet isn't bulky or stiff

Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
waist - 20"
rise - 18.5"
thigh - 11.5"
hips - 23"
inseam 12.5"-13"

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
Prefer all natural fibers. no knee patches, soft is good, not super pilly and not really thick OR really thin

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
hmmm... pretty open here I guess. Would DIG a pair in brown (maybe slightly var.) with natural cuffs and waistband, but that sorta kills the surprise part. :LOL Love stripes.

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
I prefer rolled cuffs, but anything is fine by me.

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
We sorta *need* short rows here. He's shaped funny, big round butt, LOW front rise, so short rows really help. Usually I do at least 5 short rows and the back is at least an inch (more is better) higher in back. BUt don't worry if you don't like short rows. A longer front rise is okay, too, just not as taylored, but that isn't necessary.

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)
Hmmm... Don't think I really want any... but maybe little vines around the leg cuffs or a couple of leaves or something simple like that. BUt I'm sure anything would be great and we'd love it. Surprises are fun and sometimes you get things that you never thought you wanted but you end up loving them. :D

ohh YAY good this is helpful.

Knit, crochet or no preference? Id really prefer knit in the round nothing tight I like them to fit like pants and want him to wear them for a while
Measurements[/b] Right now his measurements are 19"waist and rise 10.5"thighs and when I measure I get a 9" inseam but I have pants with an 8"inseam that fit perfect, but I WANT a 10"inseam so he can wear them longer. Probably make them a little bigger for wear so add an inch to waist and rise and thighs.
yarn preferences I really like Lion's Brand fisherman's wool yarn or softer, 100% wool.
color preferences I dont really like red unless it is a dark verigated, but there is so much risk in red bleeding I prefer to stay away. Just about any color I can do as long as it isnt super bright. Falls colors, sunset colors, earth tones, dark color schemes.
finishing preferences a drawstring please, and no rolled cuffs, I like them to be able to roll up, so a little ribbing or seed stitch.
style preferences never had a soaker with short rows but if the mom wants to she can, i prefer knit in the round
embellishment ideas? dont do it unless you want to, LOL, I actually dont like embroidery very much(one of my OCDs I guess, LOL)

Knit, crochet or no preference?
--Knit

Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
Tristan - 9 1/2 months
--weight: 20lbs 4oz
--waist 18
--rise 18
--thighs 11
--inseam 9 1/2
(I measured generously and long so they will fit all winter)

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
--Soft, thin, wool, don't care for pillies, Merino is too soft, but Montana wool is great, I don't care what brand as long as it is soft, durable and thin. ;)

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
--vareigrated, all same yarn is ok, contrasting cuffs and wasitband is ok (don't have any yet that have different waistband & cuffs). Really don't care for solid yarn. Boy or GN colors, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, etc. I don't mind a little pink or purple but as long as it is not the primary color. I am pretty open as long as it isn't too bold or too dark. aka black with white stripes isn't a good idea. :)

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
--I prefer seeded, but I haven't tried rolled so either would be fine, or whatever. I measured them long so I could roll them yet they would be long enough for shoes (when he gets to that stage). No Ribbed pretty please with a cherry on top. Same size needles for the cuffs as the rest of the legs/body, I don't lilke them to have the tappered look at the bottom. Prefer smaller needles for the waist then larger needles for everything else. I would love a drawstring, also not too thick.

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
--Please please add short rows in the back if you can. Or add to the rise in the back. We get diaper crack if we don't. Prefer knit in the round for body and legs, I just don't want a seam inbetween the legs, I don't think it would comfy. A seem up the sides wouldn't bother me at all.

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)
--Anything not girly. I love butterflies, lady bugs, bugs in general. Frogs, duckys, cats, dogs. Things that are alive. :) But if you are inspired by something else, go for it, something abstract go for it. Just not girly like flowers or rainbows.

Phew I think that is it! I may add to this if I think of anything else. Hope I am not too picky!!! And sorry for the novel!

Knit, crochet or no preference?
--Knit, I think thats what I said

Measurements
-- will get asap!

Yarn preferences
-- Prefer sheep-friendly but if not that is a-okay :)
I have used Scandanvian Skies, LTK, Bartletts.

Color preferences
--Open! Well, no natural or pastels please :)
We have rainbow and purple so far.

Finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
--Open! Anything except ribbed cuffs please.

Style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
--Open!

Embellishments
--If you wanna give it a whirl, go for it.
We love the Moon (DD is Zoe Luna)

Basically I am totally open to your creativity...

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Prefer knit

Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
Waist: 20"
Rise: 19" with 2 more inches in back (short rows)
Inseam: 8" plus 2" cuffs (total 10")

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
Everything we currently have is either Bartlett's or LTK. It needs to be 100% wool. I don't like Lamb's Pride because of the mohair (I think that's what's in it) - too hairy for me. Just normal wool. Doesn't have to be Bartlett's or LTK as long as it's good quality (holds up well over time).

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
No preference other than colors must be boy colors or my dh will have a cow. If embellishments are being added, I prefer solid yarn (not varigated or stripes) in the background. Edited to add - we have a lot of blue so it would be nice to get something else. Green is a color we don't have much of. Right now we have brown, blue (more than one pair in more than one shade) and red. I'm thinking a dark green would be great.

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
I usually do seed stitch for the cuff simply because works well for cuffs that are rolled and then unrolled later on.

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
Yes and yes - I like the neatness of things that are done in the round (without seams). Short rows are necessary for the rise to work correctly (otherwise they don't fit).

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)
This is not my talent, so even if you are moderately talented at this, I would love to have something embellished. Anything boyish would be great!

I prefer knit
no measurements, just guesstimate a 6-12 mos size....gender neutral colors(so just make sure there are no pinks, purples are ok, as long as it's not the predominant color ;)

I prefer the cuffs to be anything but ribbed ;)
No yarn preference, I like Cascade 220, LTK, my yarns ;);) Anything relatively soft, or that softens with washing, and 100% wool, well a wool mohair blend or wool alpaca would work too(but 100% wool is cheaper ;) )

Holden's measurements are:
Waist and hip - 21" unstretched (so that they will fit him no matter what)
Rise - 19"
Thigh - 12"
Outseam - about 18"

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Knit

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
no superwash... , something soft and not to pilly please. I actuaaly have tons of yarn here that I am not going to get to this winter, so if my swap partner wants to PM me I can send yarn I already have, or she can pick her own - it's totally up to her.

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.) nothing pink, lol. We already have these colors: FC black cherry, varigated black/charcoal, varigated orange, blue/green/purple multi, autumn (orange/brown/yellow), black and white, blueberry, brown/cream/tan and forest green I'dlove varigated neutral tones or dark blue/green (I have FC royal lime that I could send), varigated blues/white. We have none with contrasting cuffs/waistband so that would be really cool.

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
Most of ours are rolled cuffs; I like those best. I don't really liked ribbed cuffs, but anything else is fine.

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
I prefer short rows as Holden has some thick night time diapers, but it doesn't matter if it doesn't have short rows beause I added to the rise to accomodate anyway.

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)
Anything if you want to try! We're not into sports, so no balls or the like please. Anything seasonal for winter would be great. Snowman soaker pants, Christmas (non religious) soaker pants, etc. would all be fine.

Can I still get in on this? I don't know what the deadline is!
Here's DD's measurements:
Waist: 16.5"
Rise: 17"
Inseam: 10.5"

Knit, crochet or no preference?: Prefer knit

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.): DD is very picky so my only requirement is that it be SOFT.

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.): anything, really! We like girly stuff, but DD wears a lot of blues too.

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.): anything

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.) Doesn't matter, lol.

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try): dragonflys, butterflies, nothing too complicated. :)

Okay, I finally got around to measuring again. Sorry it's taken me so long!

Knit, crochet or no preference?
Knit (but crochet is good too, if that's what my swapper does :))

Measurements (make sure they will still apply for Thanksgiving when the swap is due to complete)
waist: 17.5"
hips: 22"
rise: 20"
thigh: 11.5"
inseam: 13"

yarn preferences (content, brand, feel, softness, need knee patches?, pilly/don't care, thicker, thinner, etc.)
I prefer wool, and something that will stand up to a toddler who likes to run and fall down a lot.

color preferences (solids, vareigated, stripes, contrasting cuffs and waitsband, etc.)
I want something darkish so that if they get dirty it isn't incredibly obvious. Maybe something in an earthtone, or something blue-jeanish

finishing preferences (cuff style, ability to roll, etc.)
extra length to unroll in the cuffs would be good. Niels seems to be all legs and growing.

style preferences (short rows? knit in round? etc.)
No preferences, knock yourself out. :)

embellishment ideas? (in case anyone wants to try)
Not necessary, but if you want to Niels like trains, cars, giraffes, zebras and nemo. ;)
