Wow. that's the first time in my life I've been able to say that.

Anyway, I'm Marnie, mom to Maya, who just hit the 14 month mark. We're a work at home family (except for Maya, she distracts more than she works, to be honest). We make our home in New York City, though we also live part-time in Milan, Italy.

I started knitting a few years ago and the more time passes the more I love it. I'm just now starting to sell a few things here and there by word of mouth, and I have to tip my hat to all of you who sell regularly. It's like dropping a beloved friend in the mail, each time.

Anyway, thanks for the forum!

The post office people must think I am weird, as I wave goodbye to each package I mail!

and.... you're welcome :inlove:

Ice Cream? Ice cream? Not even gelato? I'd pay a lot of money for an Italian gelato...

Another NY metro soaker knitter! I didn't know any others existed!!!!!

I'm on Long Island (Glen Cove to be specific). Where in NYC are you? I worked in Downtown Manhattan for many years.

yeah, gelato - gelato just means ice cream, you can't get any other kind here!

hi new yorker! we're currently in the lower east village - having lived for years just below houston, now we're just above it on the same block! It's the world's tiniest apartment so we're looking to move in January when the lease is up, but since we don't want to leave the neighborhood i don't think we'll be going anywhere.

ever been to downtoan yarns? it's dangerously right down the street from me. everytime i take my daughter for a stroll i end up desperate over some new yarn.

Ahhh Marnie I used to live in that 'hood when I was at NYU for grad school. Eat some Indian food over there for me, eh? When you're done with your gelato that is. ;) mmmmmm
