I hope I put this thread in the right spot :)

I am interested in getting the Ottobre magazine but because it is so expensive I thought I would see what you all thought of it. If you have this magazine, what do you think of it? The more info the better, thank you :sunshine

I've never used them, but if you read the forums at www.sewingmamas.com, EVERYONE and their dogs love them it seems. :LOL Really... seems like half of the sew n shows are from ottobre patterns.

I've subscribed to Ottobre for three years now- LOVE it! I rarely ever buy other patterns anymore, so it is incredibly economical that way.

Wow, that is quite the glowing review :D How would you rate the patterns for difficulity? I am in sewing for summer mode and just finished my 16th dress today, LOL. I am ready for a different pattern. I am thinking if I had a magazine with options my kids would have more variety for their clothing. This is the first year I am making all the kids clothing so it is quite the undertaking. I just don't like what there is in the store, it is all so flippin short!!

I've been sewing with Ottobre since this time last year. I now sew ALL of Ryan's clothes from it (as in I no longer buy any RTW clothes for him ) because they are so stylish and inexpensive to sew.

Each magazine has so many patterns (about 30) that there will be a few for your child, regardless of their current age.

You can see from my sewing blogs (http://alicesewing.blogspot.com)(seriously out of date now) that I love sewing these patterns. Unlike some other companies, the pieces of Ottobre patterns always match up (Ok I did have trouble with one but I used a fabric with too much stretch so = my fault).

Now that I have about 7 issues I'm wondering if I should stop buying them since I have enough patterns now to last til DS is 16! Nah... ;)

Thumbs up from me!
ps. ive been sewing since I was 12, but most of that was dance costumes and diapers. You do need basic to average sewing skills, but picking up a book is an easy way to learn a new technique.

Oh wow, your stuff is so cute! Good job :) I went ahead and ordered the magazine and now I want it to be here THIS SECOND ;)

The only issue I can really see is getting used to metric measurements. My American brain just isn't used to them. Hubby thinks it is a good thing, he likes the metric system better anyway.
