I REALLY want to like this soaker pattern but so far, my soakers have turned out HUGE and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the pattern without just buying a new soaker pattern . I really like the front loading legs and the look better than my LTK soaker pattern and I love not dealing with short rows but I hate coming up with my own measurements (I realize that is supposed to be ideal). I love the punk knitter pattern and I've made several but they look like they might be a bit small - hard to knit for an unborn child, lol. I've tried using smaller measurements for the F & F and they still turn out huge and I've checked my gauge several times. Anyone have any numbers I can plug in that worked well for them for a S/M? I'm thinking about sizing based on my daughter - she was plump but little and short. At 2 yrs, she was 23 lbs. I hope I'm making sense and someone can help me or just tell me to dish out the money for a new pattern or suggest another free one for me to try. Thanks :)

welcome to the forums....

You may want to post this to the main knit chat ---you are likely to get more response there. (Most of the stuff in the design workshop is related to people developing their own patterns.)

YOu might also want to search the forums for that pattern as I know this topic has been discussed before. I haven't done one from it so I won't be any help at all. (If you do add to your patterns you probably would like the Everlasting wonder soaker----two sizes, no short rows. front loading legs.....It is a ribbed soaker and is a fast knit in the smaller size which would be great for a newborn. The woolywonder soaker pattern - for which there is a class starting ---is similar to the F and F pattern too.) Sorry to have turned into a commercial..but sometimes it just creates less hassle in the long run to get a pattern that works rather than being frustrated trying to get one you have to work!

totally.
Frustration=no fun knitting experience, I've learned that the hard way.

There isn't any magic loop required for the EWS....The only part you could do that way is the legs.....

are you wanting newborn sized soakers?

14 waist, 14 rise, thighs--8-9 inches with ribbed cuffs on the legs to help fit better.
