I've seen some in shops this season and I'd really like to make my dd a knitted dress on my own. Has anyone seen any patterns for infants/toddlers? Preferably free?

I've had this pattern from Knitty bookmarked for awhile: http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/PATTanouk.html - it's not exactly a dress, but I think the pattern could be so versatile! I plan on making at least one for DD this fall winter - probably without the intarsia pockets though!

There was also a freebie pattern sheet awhile back for a cute little dress but it is crocheted.

Did you ever find a pattern you liked? My Grandmother has asked me to find a pattern for a jumper type dress so that she can make a dress for my niece.

Sorry, no link, but I found a book that has some extremely cute girly baby dresses.
The book "Minniw Knits" by Jil Eaton. There is one for a pinafore type dress that I think is so cute.
Moneysuits by Sharon Turner has a smock type jacket that could easily turned in to ad dress by putting some ruffles on the sleves and making the "skirt" longer.
Maybe you can get then through your library or if they don't have it request it through inter library loan.
Hope this helps.
I hope that helps.

I just bought the Minnow Knits book. Lots of cute stuff! If you would like to borrow it, I would be happy to send it to you.

i'm currently making a bib's dress of my own design....... i made a pattern myself.... so far so good, just short on my supply of different sized needles........ so i'm stalled.... but if it comes out looking good, i will be posting my long detailed pattern on here :D You may want to try just doing one without a pattern.... if you know the formula for figuring out how many to cast on and such, it's not really hard.....
