Pam - do I also request membership to the soaker pattern group as well? or does that automatically happen as a result of joining the class?

Now, about that yarn...totally clueless about what to buy (and what it all means), how much and where to buy it. Prefer inexpensive, but fair quality and on-line, at least for now. Help a true novice?

LOL @ Kristin! Lets see if I can get the funds and maybe I will:fingersx: !! By the way,you asked about yarn, if you look at the kit that Pamela was talking about in her boutique it lists 3 yarn types that from what I hear are good, but I have yet to try any of them:)

2-ply Targhee
Aran weight Bluefaced Leicester (BFL)
2-ply Blackberry Ridge (BBR)
All of these you can get from Nada at www.woolywondersbynada.com

I have some Marr Haven merino worsted weight yarn coming in the mail http://www.marrhaven.com/yarn.html
So if I do join I think I'll try that until I get my greedy little hands on some of those others I mentioned that I'm dying to try:brow :nod !!!

I went to my LYS today and had a blast showing the ladies my soaker from Meredith - and my list of supplies for "soaker school" - they were so sweet to me...

I bought the items I did not yet have and now I'm ready for the first day of school!

I am just thrilled to have a new project - and I am determined to finish this one!!! I've started sweaters before, but always with the wrong yarn and never enough guidance... I'd get frustrated and hide the half-completed work in a bin, never again to see the light of day...

But not this time! I will finish a soaker, by golly! :nod

This is going to be such fun... Go Team June Basic Soaker Class!!! :highfive

I have a feeling that this is going to be fun class!

One more yarn question to anyone in the know. Can I use white Peace Fleece? A friend of mine has an extra skein she could give me. Will it work for our project?

:didit I joined!!! I kept going back and forth on joining or not:decision ....'Should I spend the 45 bucks...nay I can learn this all myself and not spend the money but... on the flip side I would get total focused help with others in the same boat and learn MUCH faster.'
So anyway,I know no matter what I'm GOING to learn something(or probably alot:P ).I can't loose,so what am I waiting for LOL!:crazy :lol
Okay so now I'm rambling....see you all at the class:D !!

Par-TAY! So glad you took the plunge, Jaime!

And Kristin - I have no idea whether Peace Fleece will work... :scratchc:

I'm thinking of making a construction paper ring chain to countdown to the 20th... You know - like the ones you made in grade school counting down to Christmas Break? Maybe I'm the only one who ever did that, but seriously, you know what I'm talking about - a construction paper ring chain...

T minus 12 days!

Hey ladies...

It is the 'other' Pam here. I will be one of the TAs for the class....

Just thought I would say welcome...

Peace fleece should work for the class....It might not be quite as 'bulky' as the other yarn choices....

I LOVE PF....I just discovered it...and I have had it in my stash for quite a while.....and recently found that I have something like 5 or 6 skeins of white...(How did that happen?)

Shelley, you're too funny! A construction paper chain sounds like a GRAND idea! This is going to be a cool class.:sunshine

The class is on!!

I always start classes on Mondays, why did I think the 20th was a Monday?

If you've registered and paid, you should see the class forums down down below in the Wooly Wonder University section? Seeee??

Let me know if you have trouble or if things are confusing. I just spent a few hours clearing out the old class, so I might have made some mistakes. I know, hard to believe I could make a mistake, but trust me it does happen. (tee hee)

Still not too late to enroll, bring some more friends in! Spread the word!! Bigger classes are more fun!

I'll check early in the AM to see if anyone has a problem. Now... off to bed!
