Anyone have a recommendation for a good swim diaper? Being a natural fiber gal, I'm a little unsure too what would be the best material--something not too plasticy would be nice. Trunks with a built in diaper would be great! TIA!

I had a couple of swim diapers from one of the cd places...and they were nice, but for my kids the ones form Target worked just fine.

I don't know what the fabric is that they are made of..some polyester/nylon blend I think...

All the swim diaper really does is hold in the pooh. It doesn't hold in pee...

they aren't really plasticy at all...

And I can also say that mostly breastfed poo to todder poo rinses out of them fairly easily (and soap from the bathroom sink takes out the 'stinkies')

I have washed the swim diaper at the pool and a put it right back on the kiddo...

What size swim diaper are you needing? I have mine around here somewhere ...If I weren't so lazy I would go get one to look at right now.

Also something I didn't realize - and wished I had known...in a pinch...Our local pool keeps disposable swim diapers under the counter. (I don't think they charge for them if you ask nicely...if they do charge it is likc .75) I will admit to using disposable swim diapers a bit...but ONLY when I got them for under $3.00 a package off clearance....(As much as we were at the pool I would have gone broke in those.....)

Just wanted to add, did you know you can reuse the disposable ones pam? you just wring them out and dry for next time as they aren't absorbant.
This is only if they aren't dirty though.

I know that is possible...however my kids always seemed to have a bm the first hour in a disposie swim diaper. And most of the time it was just too easy to rip the side to get the kids out of their wet diaper.......

http://www.mypoolpal.com/ I have one from these guys that I got at the local swim shop. It is made with just nylon and spandex, no poly :)

Any pul diaper cover or pocket will do the job just fine. All a swim diaper is supposed to do is catch the poops. I have just used unstuffed pockets (happy heiney's, mostly) for most of our swimming excursions.

That being said, I found a swimsuit with built in swim diaper at Tuesday Morning for 3.99. How can you beat that?

Yep, we just used a shell for an AIO previously but now my youngest is completely confident using only the potty.

Thanks for chiming in everyone! I might just use a pul cover I had around if I did, but we're exclusive wool users here. I think I'll get one of these:

It doesn't open on the sides it looks like. But my guy is pretty regular so I kind of doubt we'll be cleaning up many messes. Thanks again!

Nope it doesn't open at the sides, it is just pull on. Ours is purple with frogs on it, the website doesn't have any cool ones like that. You might try a swim shop if you have one in your area, they might have cuter ones :)

I just use a fleece cover. It's not a natural fiber but more breatheable than a sposie swim diaper.
