I have finally decided to actually knit something up completely from 'scratch'. I have hit a point where I don't want to 'experiment' and am looking for some suggestions or formulas...
I am knitting a beach/pool cover up/poncho..The one I have on my needles is for my son....
It is knit with a 'square neckline --- as I knit up the front bound off the center stitches for the neck and then knit 8rows (I think) for the opening before casting on to rejoin the sides and knit down the back.
I want to attach a hood - and it was in the plans from the start (when I cast on for the back I did a provisional cast on so I could avoid picking up those stitches.)
I am not sure how to get the best 'dimensions around' I am not looking for a snug hood but rather a loose fitting one that would flip up over the wet hair.(I will probably do shaping at the top so I don't end up with a KKK pointed hood look LOL)
Any suggestions as to where I should start picking up for the hood on this neckline?
