I want to do this keppie but have a question about the "M1"--- when you say backwards loop... what is this? Is this the increase you demonstrate on your soaker pattern? Also is it going to be confusing for me to use a circular needle for the entire pattern, versus the one long needle and magic loop method you use? I have not done the magic loop yet. I am a skeered. :nut

It will be really hard to do the hat in the beginning on one needle....b/c the starting circum. is so small. I did mine all on one needle in my own sort of 'magic loop' fashion..... (YOu really have to be able to 'play with' and pull out excess cable)

You could do it with DPNs. I should add that info to the pattern. I'm not super explicit about techniques in the pattern. It sort of expects you to know stuff, so ask away.

have you tried one of the circular beginnings like Emily Ocker?
