Hi, i've been checking out the Noro Kureyon online. i haven't actually touched it in person. my questions are the following: how does it work for a soaker? any shedding? and how do those stripes look with a kitchenered crotch seam? or shorts having 2 un matching legs?

thanks for your opinions!

susan.... didn't you knit up a pair of shorts in the Noro for a customer? Did they work?

I bought some with the intention of using it for a soaker, but that was in my learning days, and I never did it.

now... Noro Kureyon makes a great little purse... have you seen that one? The Booga bag, I think.

i haven't seen anything knitted up with it at all. i love the colors, though. is it soft yarn? what would you compare it to in softness and thickness?

I am knitting with some of this wool. I do not prefer it to Merino wool however. It is slightly thicker and it's not too soft.

hi cynthia! does it pill like merino? that's why i can't stand using merino - it pills so quickly. i was looking for a soft merino alternative. guess this isn't it, huh?

Man... what was I thinking? I think I am smoking something... maybe all that burnt wool smell in my house went to my brain! LOL!

Ooo... the burnt wool smell has blown out of my brain.... I think Leslie is the one who knit up a pair in the Noro Kureyon.

i bought some of this gorgeous yarn w/ the intentions of making a soaker, but decided it wasn't soft enough.

instead i felted it and made appliques out of it. this yarn is gorgeous felted!

Its me. You can check out my site. I have quite a few pairs up there.

Its OK for soakers, if the 2 umnatched leg thing doesn't bother you (it would me personally), butsome of their colors hav smaller stripes so its not too far off from variegated.

It gets much softer with washing. I enjoy knitting with it. I have gotten one complaint that it pilled, ut she was scrubbing it with wool wash too, so I am ont sur that is fair.

I like it for all the colors and its amazing as it is dyed befo espinning as opposed to after so the derpth of color is amazing! How the colors strand together.
