I *was* working on my sister's afghan for her wedding gift (in two weeks) but ran out of yarn. Went to Wal-mart and Michael's and neither carry it anymore. I was freaking out, but Tammy :mwah hooked me up with someone on a crochet list and she'll be mailing it out priority tomorrow so it looks like I'll still be able to finish it on time.
So, I'm currently without a project to work on (well...there are tons of UFOs in my closet...but those are boring) and I'm itching to start something new. Hopefully my yarn will be dry by tomorrow morning. I've got the fan blowing on it and will be letting it go all night.
How bout the other hookers on the block?

I made dd a treasure bag from some left over yarn I had. Its kind of a pastel rainbow. About 45 chain on a K hook, maybe 10 inches tall. She was putting blocks and little toys in it last night. "Ohhh, mama annoder treasure!"

I made Caroline a pair of booties yesterday using a pale pink Baby Teri. Super soft and very fast. I used the DC version of Bev's Newborn Booties pattern and tweaked it to fit.

I have nothing on the hook right now, I'm planning a Mobius Scarf for my mom for Christmas... I might knit it, I might hook it... hard to say. I am looking for a fun baby blanket pattern for a friend that just found out she's preggo, something somewhat traditional but more modern....and not boring. Suggestions??

I made a gorgeous blankie for dd while I was preggo with her....the pattern is in one of those small booklets that Leisure Arts puts out....let me find it...."Beginner's Guide Crochet Stitches & Easy Projects" It was printed in 1999 - I found it at Wal-Mart and I"m pretty sure they still carry it. This is the least boring blanket I ever made. "Show-off Baby Blanket" One of my friends wants me to make it for her when she's preggo. It has a bunch of different stitches...diamonds, popcorn, cables...and the best part - it's all one piece - no sewing!

My mom was over yesterday looking through a crochet mag I have and it has a pattern for one...she said that she liked it...maybe that was a hint? :chin

Okay ladies! Now you have me thinking about brushing the dust off my crochet hooks and trying to see if I can refresh my memory of how to crochet. (I used to be able to make granny squares....)

I love granny squares!....I hate sewing them together.

well I crochet left handed and at least granny squares don't require a lot of "reversing". I hated having to constantly think backwards...but with the granny squares once you get into the rhythm - at least I remember they weren't too mentally challenging.

Sewing together stinks! The blanket I made for James was blocks sewn together... bleh!
I will look for that pattern, I just googled the book so I know what it looks like!!
Is your Mobius scarf pattern a free one that you can share?? I'm still undecided on knit/vs crochet. I'd love to do it in chenille, but I don't think the thinner chenille holds up well to knitting since they now only recommend it for crochet.

I'm having *gasp* fun with knit. Finished a hat for me using Manos de Uruguay (I LOVE that stuff), was working on a hat for my dh, and got interrupted by volunteering for Pam. On the hook (well, not really - all my hooks seem to have gone missing), I have 2/3 of a quick-thick rug, most of a baby onesie I seem to have royally *&^%'d up on, and the beginnings of a toddler jacket. Wow... sounds a lot worse when I put it all together like that. :bag

I'm almost done with a simple hat for DS. It's out of some lucious hand-dyed, hand spun wool that I've been hoarding, but didn't know what to use for. Ethan grabbed it the other day and asked for a hat, so there ya go ... decision made *lol*
I also have a pair of long pants I need to put the waist binding on.
And don't get me started on the big order of yarn I'm (not so patiently ;) ) waiting for ... plan to make a hoodie for DS, and scarves for my two girlfriends who will be with me and DH for the birth of this new baby. Not sure if I'll knit or hook the scarves...
Then I need to get hooking the next size up of soakers and pants for the new baby. I think I got carried away w/ newborn stuff. Boy will this child have a lot of wool *lol* It's positively decadent.

I'm not a fan of chenille, so can't help you there. The mobius scarf pattern is in a annie's fav crochet mag I have.

I have actually been working on a hooker smilie!!!!!!! Yup, our own version! With *red* yarn, of course! :brow
I'm waiting for final approval from Patti. :juggle She thinks the smilie kerchief is too homely for us hookers. We'll see if we can't come up with something better. 8)

You're welcome. I love CL. I have only met one of the listers IRL, but have chatted w/many many of them. Lots of great people there.. :) I've been a member for 5yrs (like I said) :) They gave me the confidence to wash my items (had been too scared  before), taught me how to correctly weave in ends (NO knots! Knots are BAD)...and more.. :)
