Got some of those abacus-style row counters done. I love using them! They pin onto your work and don't get lost. Plus, no stopping to reach for a pen and paper! Just move either the single row or multiple row bead into the top loop to keep your place!

Asian Set: a row counter (up to 59 rows) and a set of four complimentary stitch markers. There are 9 single row beads and 5 ten row beads. This one is a bit larger than the green one below. $15.75, postage paid.

So Katie, all the little beads fit into the center loop? I assume you've tested them!!

Can you post instructions??

Yes, the beads all fit in the center loop & I tested them on the 9 1/2 hr car ride to SIL's wedding! The beads stayed put even though the project was in & out of the bag repeatedly! Yay!

There are different numbers of beads, depending upon size. The green one will count 29 rows; it has 4 clear beads to mark single rows and 5 green beads which mark 5 rows. For rows 1-4 you simply place a clear bead in the center. When you hit row 5, you take the clear beads out & move one green bead in. Rows 6-9 are clear beads, row 10 is another green.

The other stitch marker works the same way, except there are 9 single row beads, and the black beads mark every tenth row. The loop on that one is bigger, to accommodate more beads.

I've been trying to make one that will accommodate 100 rows, but so far they've been too big for my taste. Now trying to figure out a double loop design!
