Ok, I've made a couple of pocket diapers (and one fitted from flannel only). So I have a little diaper sewing experience, but need a little advice on how to construct a fitted.

Here's what I have on hand (but I don't have to use all these fabrics on one diaper):
Organic short velour
Natural sherpa
Microfiber
Microfleece
Cotton flannel

I want to make a fitted w/ an external soaker. I don't have a
serger so I'll be turning & topstitching and using Aplix for closure.

What would you use as the diaper body layers and inner of the
diaper? Then what about the soaker layers and top soaker layer?
How many layers of each fabric?

Thanks so much for the help! :D

How heavy is your flannel? If it's pretty substantial, I'd think flannel outer, sherpa or velour inner for your body. Then, it really depends on how heavy a wetter your kid is on the soaker. I like to make 2 soakers, 2-3 layers each and sewn together at the ends. Dry faster this way, but still get the absorbancy and no folding. So, like 2 layers sherpa in one, 2 layers velour topped with microfleece for the top one. Or 2 microfiber on the bottom, 2 sherpa topped with microfleece on top. Or just velour on top... blah blah blah... lol I'll shut up now.
