I have a little idea brewing. Where would one find information about decorative ways to reduce stitches in the round?

I'm searching but not finding what I want.

do about 6 evenly spaced, paired decreases (probably every third row, if it's for the crown of a hat. or alternating every second and third row for a faster rate of decrease but without the sharpness of all second row decreases) with a stitch between them, slipped every other row ;)
